Heartland Payment Systems Compromise of Credit/Debit Card Data
Recently Heartland Payment Systems, a credit/debit/prepaid card processor which has no affiliation with our Bank, announced that it experienced an information security breach involving VisaŽ, Master CardŽ and other brands of cards. We would remind you that your VISAŽ Check Card is protected by Visa's Zero Liability ProgramŽ. VISAŽ will also be taking precautionary measures to monitor potentially affected VISAŽ Check Card accounts. Additionally, VISAŽ has added extra security measures over the past year to their system; this provides extra scrutiny of both credit and debit activity that takes place on all VISAŽ transactions. As a precaution, always review your statements upon receipt or online through Internet Banking, and check them closely for any unusual transactions. If there are any transactions in question, please contact your local Branch Manager or our VISAŽ Check Card Department, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 1-800-851-5152.
